Motion failed to carry 3 votes and the request l'laS denied. The applicant was advised of his right to appeal to the Commission within ten days. ITEM #3 - The request of Dorothy Eppelein for a special exception. The Building Official reported this is a single family residence in a general business zone, an older piece of prop- erty non-conforming to the zone and requires a special excep- tion where structural alterations are being made. Dorothy Eppel~in stated she had purchased the property and planned ~o construct an addition to give more storage space and living area. m. ~ Blaine Peters spoke in support of 'the request. Gregg Arnold, owner of The Den, spoke to apprise the applicant of the noise factor from his business. There was no one to speak in opposition. - Upon consideration of the appeal of Dorothy Eppelein from the decision of the Building Official concerning a special ex- ception to construct an addition to the present dwelling in a business zone on Lots 17 and 18, Block 3, Overbrook Subdivision, which property is located at 1356 Park street, and is zoned CG (general business), it appearing, after this duly constituted public hearing, that the proposed use is consistent with the general zoning plan and with the public interest, Mr. Donnell moved that said appeal be granted in accordance with the appli- cation submitted therewith, with the provision that the right to obtain a building permit in accordance with sail special ex- ception shall cease after six (6) months from this date. Mr. Nichols seconded the motion' which carried unanimously. MINUTES - The Chairman presented the minutes of the meet- ing of January 26, 1978, for consideration. Hearing no ob- jection, he declared the minutes approved in accordance with copies submitted to each board member in writing.
