of appeal of Safeway Builders, from the decision of the
Building Inspector concerning denial of Business use of
existing building on Lot 117, Replat of Ardmore Place,
(property presently zoned R-l), it appearing after this
duly constituted public hearing that there are not such
practical difficulties or unnecessa~y hardships in the way
of carrying out the strict letter of the provisions of the
zoning ordinance as would justify a variance of said pro-
vision and that the same cannot be made within the intent of
the Zoning Ordinance, Mr. Shepard moved that such an appeal
be denied. Motion was seconded by l~. Hougen.
Hougen, Shepard and Levison voted "Aye". Marquardt and
Stoutamire absent. Motion carried.
Mr. Charles Barber, represented ~~. and Mrs. Valery J.
Loyer for business use of property on the Southwest corner of
Douglas Avenue and Overbrook Road. He stated that his client's
business presently was running at a loss with high rents,
interest, etc. Upon consideration of the appeal of Valery J.
and Virginia M. Loyer from the decision of the Building Inspector
concerning denial of Business use (construct addition to be
occupied as a reducing salon) for Lots 20 and 21, Block F,
Sunset Point 1st Addition, (property presently zoned R-l), it
appearing after this duly constituted public hearing that there
are not such practical difficulties or unnecessary hardships in
the way of carrying out the strict letter of the provisions of
the zoning ordinance as would justi~y a variance of such pro-
vision and that the same cannot be made within the intent of
the zoning ordinance, Mr. Shepard moved that such appeal be
denied. Motion was seconded by ~~. Hougen.

questing conversion of an existing dwelling to a laundry. 1~.
I. J. Jones spoke in favor of the application and the Clerk
read a petition containing 12 names in favor of the applica-
tion. Goorge Peterson, Leon Bradley, Clarence Boykin and
Colleen Baldwin were among those opposing the application and
the Clerk read a letter from James M. Jackson also in opposition.

Business use, (converting an existing dwelling to a laundry),
for Lot It Block J, Fairmont SubdiVision, (property presently
zoned R-4J, it ,appearing after this duly constituted public

necessary hardships in the way of carrying out the strict letter
of the provisions of the zoning ordinance as would justify a
variance of such provision and that the same cannot be made with-
in the intent of the zoning ordinance, Mr. Hougen moved that such
