The Board considered the request of Richard F. Prokes and Don W.
Armstroilg who were represented by Attorney Ben Krentzman. Mr.
Krentzman presented the case for Prokes and Armstrong)' and corrected
a statement in his letter that the canopy was to be 20 feet wide
and not 15 feet. l~. Lloyd Phillips, representing some adjacent
property owners and possible objectors, stated that if applicant
confines his addition as shown on the plans presented at this hear-
ing that the clients -dill offer no objections, and that if his
clients wish to do something similar that Prokes and Armstrong
would offer no objections. Upon consideration of the appeal of
Richard F. Prokes and Don W. Armstrong from the decision of the
Building Inspector concerning denial of a permit for a 10 foot
setback to erect a cantilevered roof canopy with a sign above
and an eighteen foot setback for installation of brick veneer
facade on the west 105 feet of Lot 2, Block B, Columbia Sub-
division (property presently zoned R-4) , it appearing after
this duly constituted public hearing that there are practical
difficulties and unnecessary hardships in carrying out the strict
letter of the provisions of the zoning ordinance as it affects
such property t and that the Bame can be varied within the intent
of the zoning ordinance, l~. Shepard moved that Buch appeal be
granted in accordance with the application submitted therewith,
with the provision that the right to obtain a building permit
in accordance with such variance shall cease after six (6) months
from this date. Motion was seconded by Mr. Marquardt.
Levison, Marquardt, Hougen, Shepard, Stoutamire vo~ ed T1 Aye n .

Mr. Kennedy read a proposed fence ordinance to the Board with
the Board offering a few corrections, additions or deletions.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at
9:10 P.M.
