BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT AND APPEAL ON ZONING

The meeting was called to order by the Chairman at 1:00 p.m. in
the Commission Meet.ing Room in City Hall. He out.lined the procedures
and advised that anyone adversely affected by any deoision of the
Board of Adjustment and Appeal on Zoning may appeal the decision to
a Zoning Appeal Hearing Officer within ten (10) days. He noted that
Florida law reqUires any applioant appealing a decision of this Board
to have a verbatim reoord of the proceedings to support tho appeal.
Item A - RBquest for time extension - US Home Corp for a
speoial exception to oonstruct a fraternal lodgo 1n the
2700 blook on the N side of SR-588, Seo. 5-29-16, M&B 24.01,
proposed to be rezoned ISP (institutional semi-public).
Hr. Harvey Crawford, representing the Elks Lodge, stated they had
just reoeived their Engineering drawings and it would be approximately
60 days before they would have the preliminary drawings ready.
They are requesting an extension of time to obtain their building
permit.
Hr. GriPlll1er moved to .....t a 6 month time extension from the
4/19/84 expil"aticn date to obtain the bUilding permit. The motion
was duly seoonded and oarried unanimously.
Item '1 Robin Slaby for a speoial exoeption to operate a
speech pathology business as a home oocupation at 677
P'airwood Forest Dr., Fairwood Foreot Sub, Lot 20, zoned
RPD-9 (residential planned development).

Doctor Slaby stated his wife wishes to use their home to operate
a speech pathology business. She sees no patient.s in their home.
Host of her patients are stroke patients who she treats through medi-
oare and other agenoies.
One citizen spoke in objection stating ooncern about traffio
and submitted 7 letters of objection.
A duly oonstituted publio hearing has been held and since, based
on the material submitted by the applioant, the proposed use is
consistent with the Zoning Code, Mr. Plisko moved that said appeal
be snated with the prOVision the applioant prepare and fUe with
the Occupational License Division an affidavit agreeing to comply
with all the conditions of the Code and that the Ocoupational License
be obtained within six (6) months from this date. The motion was
duly seconded and oarried unanimously. Request sranted.
Item 12 Master Key Storage for a variance of 26 parking
spaces. at 1981 US 19 N, Sec. 5-29-16, M & B 23-02, zoned
CG (general business).

Similar businesses on U.S. 19 have very little parking available.
Having held a duly constituted public hearing and sinoe, based
on the material submitted by the applicant, there are practical
diffioulties or unneoessary hardships in complying with the Zoning
Code, Hr. Grimmer moved to 6ftI1t the request. The motion WHS duly
seconded and upon the vote being taken, Messrs. Grimmer, Pliska and
Gans voted "Aye;" Hr. Dallmann voted "Nay." Motion oarried. Request
