IT 8M 012 - Edwin Hunter for variances 1) of 128 ft to permit
construction of a single famHy dwelling 115 ft seaward
of the coastal construction oontrol line and 2) of a rt
in height to permit construction of a single family dwelling
33 ft high, at 1198 liandalay Pt, Mandalay Pt 1st Addn, Lot
27. and part of Lots 26 and 26A, and Sec. 32-28-15, zoned
RS-50 (single family).
The Planning Official stated approval of this variance will
also require approval of the State Dapartment of Natural Resources.
Harry Cline, attorney representing the applicant, stated the
variances are needed because of the flood plain l'equirements. The
struoture will be a Single story structur'e with a peak rocf. There
are other properties in the area that are higher. The state has
granted the variances.

Having held a duly constituted public hearing and since, based
on the material submitted by the applicant, there are practical
difficulties or unnecessary hardships in complying with the Zoning
Code, 11rs. Dobbs moved to grant the request with the prOVision that
the building permit be obtained within six (6) months of this date.
The motion was, duly seconded and carried unanimously. Request
granted .
ITEM #13 - J.G. Stone & G. Haddox for 1) a special exception
to permit a nono'ommeroial off-street parking lot and 2)
a variance from surfacing & landscaping requirements, at
~~1 Hamden Ct, Columbia Sub is, Lots 4-8, zoned CTF-28 (high
density oommercial-tourist).
The Building Offioial stated this special exception was premitted
under the preVious 'zoning.
The Planning Officlal stressed the unsightliness of the
un landscaped parking lot,
Warren Albright; attorney representing the applicant, stated
HI'. Stone is the sole owner of the property and a temporary permit
has been given to Chuck Cordelo to park impounded oars on a month
to month basis. Mr. Stone does not intend any beautifioation or'
improvements of the property.

because of the 5 mile radius li!'nltation on towing impounded cars he
must 'use property on Clearwater Beaoh. He has been looking tor other
property on the' beach. He also stated ho has spent about 3 months
