The motion to amend the minutes was seconded by Bob Maran and
carried unanimously.
MOTION:
Bob Maran moved to approve the amended minutes of the meeting of
September 28, 1989. The motion was seconded by Vie Chodora and
carried unanimously.
ITEM 11 - LOKEY MERCEDES, located on the west side of u.s. HWY.
19, north of Tropic Hills Drive
PINAL SITB PLAN - Approved with conditions.

Pertinent comments from each department representative are
incorporated into the motion listed below. Attachments fl, 12
and 13 are part of this item.
MOTION:
sandy Glatthorn moved to recommend approval of the final site
plan based upon a finding of this Committee that the plan
conforms with the design guidelines for site plan review SUbject
to the fOllowing:
o prior to certification, the proposed location for interior
islands is to be revised to save the maximum number of specimen
trees existing on this site.
o Prior to the issuance of a building permit copies of approved
SWFWMD, DER and Florida DOT permits are to be provided to the
city of Clearwater Public Works Department.
o An additional hydrant must be provided at the north entrance
as required by the Fire Marshal. This must be shown on the site
plan prior to certification.
e
o Handicapped spaces shall be provided on the site plan as
required by the Traffic Engineer prior to certification.
o Unless the city receives a letter from the single family
property owner at the southeast corner of Burma AVenue and Tropic
Hills Drive stating that he/she does not Object to the relocation

This site contains many trees, includt'ng several healthy
specimens. It is apparent that numerous trees will be
preserved as they have been, incorporated into interior'
islands. However, severai of these trees are poor
specimens; It is obvious that a professional plantsman
was not consulted when the project was designed as many
heal~hier specimens were not incorporated into the plan.
In addition, some interior islands are totally vacant of
trees and could have been plotted where trees e~ist.
This site design as proposed is unacceptable and does
not comply with requirements of the City Tree Ordinance
regarding preservation of existing trees.
We recommend that the architect contact city staff so
that interior green islands can be arranged to cover
optinum amount of healthy tree$.

Approval by this Board or certification of'the site plan' by the City
Clerk is not authorization to start construction or site work. Plans and
application for the proposed project must be submitted to Building
Inspections for review and issu~nce of permits. Work on site shall not
commence until Permits are issued. If the Architect or Developer has
