the D.D.B. The floor was then open to any discussion ar questions from the Board.
It was pointed out that due to the fact that the property owners are continuing to be
taxed, they should continue to have the opportunity to elect their representation in
the form of an Advisory Board,
Bill O'Malley argued with the statement regarding electing the members of the D.D.B.
Advisory Board opposed to be appointed and the effectivness of the relationship between
the C.R.A. and the D.D.B. Advisory Board.
The D.D.B.'s obligation to the C.R.A. for the Clearwater Square Agreement is $153,500.00
which does not include the payment for this fiscal year, which has not been paid yet'.
Chuck Finegan made a motion that the Board go on record as approving in principle Ed
Armstrong's outlined proposal and concept and that we further authorize him to meet with the
city attorney for the purpose of amending the ordinance and to bring that amended ordinance
back to the Board for their review at the next scheduled meeting, Ed Armstrong seconded
the motion for discussion. Terry Flowers, downtown business owner, wanted to speak to the
Board. He stated that he was against the motion and spoke in favor of keeping the D.D.B.
and relocating the office for visibility and changing their goals to differ from the
C.R.A. and be effective in promoting downtown. Chairman Thompson then called for the vote
on the motion. Finegan, Armstrong, Thompson & Grady voted for the motion with Trickel,
Brown and O'Malley voting against the motion. Bill O'Malley made a motion to adjourn
the meeting at 6:30 P.M. The motions were carried, The next regular Board meeting will
be held on Monday, April 25th.
