The meeting was called to order by Chairman,Mr. Bilgore, at 3:15 p.m.
The meeting began with an invocation by Mr. Finton and the introduction
of guests.
The first item on the agenda was the appointment of a Teller's Committee.
Bob Crosby, Marie McGinley, and Charles Galloway, who are on the Nominating
Committee, were appointed for this committee by Mr. Bi1gore. Thus far,
Mr. Crosby has accepted. If the others cannot accept, Mr. Bilgore will
appoint a substitute.
Next was the Executive Director's reports:
a) Streetscape Design Project
Mr. Bilgore suggested that a committee be appointed as representatives
of the Downtown Development Board to meet with the architect prior to the
Charrette on November 6. The three appointed were Mrs. Phifer, Mr. Stiff,
and Mr. Zabel.
b) FDDA Annual Meeting in Orlando
Mr. Casella reported on this trip. Mr. Casella was elected to the Board of
Directors of the Florida Downtown Development Authority for the coming year.
c) Approval to Have Attorney Look Into Setting up an Account to Receive
Tax Deductible Contributions for Bandshell , and Take Appropriate Action
Mr. Thayer moved to accept above recommendation, which was seconded by Mr.
Zabel. A vote was taken and motion passed unanimously. Mr. Bi1gore read an
announcement to the Board for a bandshell design competition.
