It was noted that Almeda and Christine Clay, 424 Lotus Path, telephoned tbe Planning Department expressing approval of the proposed request. It was also noted that over 12 letters plus several petitions from the Harbor Oaks Association bad been received in opposition to above request. Cedio Salterelli, president of the Harbor Oaks Association, appeared in opposition to above request. He read into the record a resolution from the Harbor Oaks Association in opposition (copy attached). He felt the proposed location was not compatible with the neighborhood and noted that two other parcels which might serve the applicantts purposes are for sale. He felt the price of residential property compared to the price of commercial property was a factor in selecting this location. Attorney Leslie M. Conklint representing the Harbor Oaks Association and also one of its residents, noted that the City of Clearwater Historical Committee has passed a resolution in opposition to the rezoning (copy attached). He submitted a petition with signatures of citizens of the City of Clearwater as well as residents opposing this rezoning. He felt GTE should change their districts to fit the existing zoning of the City of Clearwater. The following individuals also spoke in opposition: Mike Sanders, Chairman of the City of Clearwater Historical Committee; Kurt Youngstsrom, 406 Magnolia Drive; and Bob Bickerstaffe, 1007 E. Druid Road. It was the consensus of the Board that the proposed request would not be compatible with the neighborhood and would not be consistent with the goalS and objectives of the Historical Element of the Comprehensive Plan. Motion was made by Mr. Hogan, seconded by Mr. Ferrellt to recommend denial of above request. Motion carried unanimously (9-0) . Under Chairman's Items, of dissension by a Board the objector so desires. Ms. Nixon requested the reason for a vote Member be included in the minutes if Mr. Mazur inquired as to the status of the availability of a copy of the new Land Development Code.
