not addressed during the #12 areawide rezoning. Due to

Attorney Dean Hollihan, representing 41 home owners, appeared in
opposition to above request. He stated that subject property
should remain zoned residential and submitted a petition to that
effect.
A letter in opposition to above request was received from Raymond
A. Kader, 1389 Highfield Drive, Clearwater.
Planning staffls recommendation is to deny the above request and
come back with a request for the Land Use Plan in support of
residential zoning (RM-l2), the same zoning classification as the
property to the west and that zoning recommended for the property
further north.
Motion was made by Mr. Free, seconded by Mr. Goodwin, to
recommend denial of above request. Motion carried unanimously
(7-0).

Ms. Harvey commented that a question had been raised eoncerning
parking for the U. S. Home building. She stated that replacement
was needed for 7 parking spaces; there are now 5 provided but 2
more are required. Further, an easement needs to be provided over
the spaces to the U. S. Home building.
Mr. Fidler stated that the plan, as shown with the 2 additional
spaces required, meets the Code requirements. He noted there
will be a 40-foot right-of-way easement provided along the
frontage of US 19 on this property.
Motion was made by Mrs. Rogers, seconded by Mr. Goodwin, to
recommend approval of above request. Motion carried 6-0, with
Mr. Mazur abstaining due to a conflict of interest.
Under Director's items, Ms. Harvey questioned if Planning and
Zoning Board members would be interested in retaining one
membership with the Florida Planning and Zoning Association.
Discussion ensued, and decision was made that any pertinent
information would be distributed to the Board members from the
Planning staff without the need of a membership in the Florida
Planning and Zoning Association.
Ms. Harvey stated that workShOps on the Land Development Code
will be held jointly with the City Commission in September at a
City Commission work session. Public hearings on the Code will
probably follow in November or December and adoption will be
during the first part of 1985.
Mrs. Regulski informed the Board members that public hearings on
the Bayfront Plan will be held before all City Boards, probably
in late September or early October.
