He stated that they would preserve this ~ neighborhood and the character of the property, and at the same time preserve the investment. He presented drawings to the Board showing the division of the main residence into four or five units and sub- dividing the remainder of the grounds at a ~~nsity of 3 units per acre, permitting a total of 17 units, He explained that they wanted to move the main gate and entrance drive and install it on Druid Road. They would set the gate back four car lengths to hold cars for ingress/ . egress into the public street. Mr. Youngstrom stated that he had talked to Mr. Crawford, Traffic Engineer, and that he had said there would be no problem with traffic. Those speaking in opposition to the RPD (Residential Planned Development) were as follows: Mrs. Katherine Wood, 323 Lotus Path, strongly opposed condominium developments, due to the density, o~r over-populated county and pre- sent traffic problems. Mrs Sandy Lewis, Secretary for Harbor Oaks Association, 909 Druid Road. West, expressed opposition and noted that she paid dues to the association and not maintenance fees. She said she felt that there was a great deal of difference. Carolin Gaskins, 315 Magnolia Drive, questioned that if the RPD zoning was granted how would t~e residents know that this would be followed by the builder. Mr. Healey assured her that once the RPD was approved, the builder would have to follow the plan. Mr. Lee Reid, Jeffords Street, brought up the amount of additional traffic that would result from the greater density of housing. Mrs. Janet McNutt, 1322 Magnolia, did not approve moving of the main gate and drive from the present location to Druid Road. Mr. Alfred Hoffman, 802 W. Druid, questioned whether the Traffic Department had had the opportunity to investigate the traffic situa- tion. . Several people spoke in favor of the proposed RS-200 rezoning. The Board and the Planning Director reviewed the procedural aspects of the request for RPD. After discussion by the Board concerning the proposed rezoning, motion was made by Mr. Schiedeman, seconded by Mr. Tice, that above property be rezoned from RS-50.& RS-75 (single-family) to RS-200 (single-family).
