Attorney Hall, representing Dimmitt Car Leasing, Inc., stated that his client re-
quested CG, General Business zoning in order to conform to the present use of the
property inasmuch as the business had been in operation for several years (formerly
Dimmitt Chevrolet).
Mrs. Metz, residing ~t 506 E. Pine Street, stated her objections to the proposed
rezoning; namely, higher tax rate in a business district, setbacks are less
restrictive in said zone, structur~ could be erected so as to limit light and
air, and inability to remodel or rebuild her existing single family home.
Mr. Healey stated there were two separate rezoning requests; i. e., Dimmitt Car
Leasing, Inc. is requesting a change in zoning to CG for properties on Pine Street
under their ownership, and a second zone ~hange is being requested by the City in
conjunction with Dimmitt's request. Approval of both the Dimmitt application for
zone change and the City's application would eliminate the small area zoned RM-28
on Pine Street and would place it in the CG zone classification, comparable to the
surrounfting property. Mr. Healey added, however, that if the Board does not act
favorably on Dimmitt's rezoning request, the City would, in turn, withdraw its
application for rezoning.
