TRUSTEES OF THE EMPLOYEES' PENSIO~ FUND M8ETING o March 17, 1986 The City Commission, meeting as the Board of Trustees of the Employees' Pension Fund, met in regular session at the City Hall, Monday, March 11, 198b, at 9:01 a.m., with the follo~ing members present: Rita Garvey Lee Regulski Don Winner Absent: Vice Mayor/Commissioner Commissioner Commissioner Kathleen Kelly James Berfield Mayor/Commissioner Commissioner (arrived 9:01 a.m.) Also present were: Anthony L. Shoemaker Milton A. Galbraith, Jr. Cynthia Goudeau City Manager City Attorney City Clerk The Mayor called the meeting to order. ITEM #2 Minutes - Commissioner Winner moved to approve the minutes of the ~arch 3, 1986 meeting. Motloa was duly seconded and aarried unanimously. o ITEM #3 - Recommendations of the Pension Advisory Committee. a. Request for Acceptance into Membership. Denial of Membership. o The City Manager presented the recommendation of the Advisory Committee to deny membership based on physician's findings for one (1) employee listed below: Name Classification Department Daniel Fausz Water Distribution Service Worker II Water Div./Utilities Commissioner Winner moved to accept the recommendation of the Advisory Committee to deny membership. Not1oa was duly seconded and oarrled unanimously. c. Request for Pension. The City Manager presented the recommendation of the Advisory Committee, General Employees' Pension Fund that the employee listed below be granted Employee Retirement Pension under Section 5 of Employees' Pension Plan. Roy Goodwin, Assistant Fire Chief, Fire Department, effective February 14, 1986, in the amount of $3,101.72 per month. Henry C. Klein, Firefighter, Fire Department, effective February 11, 1986, in the amount of $1,052.76 per month. ~ ~ Commissioner Regulski moved to accept the recommendation of the Advisory Committee. Motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. ITEM #4 Other Business. a. Fiscal 1986 Funding Level for City Contribution. Commissioner Winner moved that the City's contribution to the Employees' Pension Plan for fiscal '86 be set at 8% of eligible salaries, thereby matching exactly the amount contributed by the employees, and that the appropriate officials be authorized to execute same. Motloo was duly seconded and oarrted unanimously. b. Appointment of Actuary to Perform January 1, 1986, Actuarial Study. Commissioner Regulski moved to appoint Ogle & Waters, Inc. to perform the actuarial stUdy for the Employees' Pension Plan as of January 1, 1986, for a fee not to exceed $8,000, and that the appropriate officials be authorized to execute same.
