A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
REQUES'rING THE PINELLAS COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS TO CANCEL AND DISCHARGE CERTAIN TAX
LmNS UPON MUNICIPAL PROPERTY ACQUIRED FOR PUBLIC
PURPOSES, AND TO GRANT TAX EXEMPTIONS.
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater, a Florida municipality, has acquired certain
hereinafter described real property for road right-of-way or other public purposes; and
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater desires that the Board of County Commissioners
of Plnellas County discharge any and all liens for taxes from the date of acquisition by the
City held or owned by the County or the State of Florida upon sald lands, and to further
provide that said land9 shall be exempt from County taxation so long as the same are
owned and used for such public purposes, as authorized by Section 196.28, Florida
Statutes; and
WHEREAS, in order to comply with the poliey of sald Board, the City of Clearwater
Is willing to guarantee payment of taxes prior to the date of transfer on the hereinafter
described property when the tax rolls reflect the proper amount and the City Is billed for
that amoun t;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City of Clearwater hereby requests the Board of County
Commissioners of Plnellas County, Florida, to take all formal acUon necessary to cancel
and discharge any and all liens for taxes, held or owned by Pinellas County or the State of
Florida, upon the lands acquired by the City of Clearwater for public purposes, which
lands are more particularly described in the Deeds attached hereto as Exhibits A, B, 0, D,
E, 'F, 0, H, 1, J and K and mado a pB'rt hereof, from the date of acquisition by the City,
and to provide that said lands shall be exempt from taxation so long as the same are used
for such public purposes.
Section 2. The City of Clearwater guarantees payment of taxes prior to the date of
transfer on the hereinabove described properties when the tax rolls reflect the proper,
amount and the City Is billed for that amount.
Sectlon 3. A certified copy of this Resolution shall be delivered forthwith to the
County Administrator for Plnellas County, Florida.
Section 4. ThlR resolution shall take effect Immediately upon its a~optlon.
