" ' . ~. .; - . e A ~ RES 0 L UTI 0 N No . 8 i - 1 9 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, ASSESSING C~RTAIN REAL PROPERTY CONSISTING OF LOT 75, COUN'fRYSIDE TRACT 90, PHASE I, FOR THE COSTS OF DEMOLITION IN THE AMOUNT OF $3,015.50 INCURRED IN REMOVING ~ DANGEROUS STRUCTURE. " WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 138 of the Code of Ordinnnces, City of Clearwater, and the Standard Building Code, the Building Official determined that certain real property hereinafter described and the building situated thereon were unsafe, unsanitary, unfit for human habitation, and dangerous and detrimental to the health safety, morals, and the general welfare of the community, and did not properly comply with the requirements of said Code; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 138.02, city Code, the Building Official found that an emergency existed which, in his opinion, involved imminent danger to human life and health, and ordered the demolition of the building; and WHEREAS, the owner of the property ackowledged that the structure is in such a state of disrepair that it should be demolished; and WHEREAS, the owner executed a Waiver of Notice and Hearing, dated December 11, 1986,' authorizing the City to demolish such , , structure, util~zing the process it normally follows of utilizing a,private demolition contractor to do such job, and acknowledging that the costs of such demolition \iill be assessed against such property and will become a lien thereon; and WUEREAS, the City of Clearwater has caused the demolition of the building and the cost of such work should now be assessed as a ~ien on behalf ~f the City of Clearwater against the property: (~ , . .01' NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMl-tISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDl\: c ~ '. The record title holder to said property appears to be Parnell F. Sitton, Jr., 2741 Brattle Lane, Clearwater,FLorida 33519, according to the Public Records and the current tax roll of Pinellas County, Florida: . and the City of Clearwater having now completed said work, the City Commission does hereby assess and charge a lien on behalf of the City of Clearwater against the property for the necessary costs incurred as follows: , Demolition Cost Installation and 7 month rental of fence (5/27/86 - 12/28/86) 565.50 $2,450.00 Total $3,015.50 Section 2. As soon as practicable, a Certificate of ITldebted- ness against the property for the amount of assessment shall be " prepared, which certificate shall constitute a lien prior to all other liens except the lien for taxes. Said certificate, when issued, shall be payable to the City is not exceeding ten (10) equal annual installments with interest at a rate not greater than eight percent (8%) per annum. Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to prepare a Notice of Lien in the amount of the assessment against said property, and to record the same in tne Public Records of Pinellas County, Florida.
