A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE BOARD OP COUNTY
COMr-tISSIONERS TO CANCEL AND DISCHARGE CEwrAIN
MUNICIPAL PROPERTY ACQUIRED FOR PUBLIC PURPOSES
FROM ALL LIENS FOR TAXES AND TO GRANT TAX
EXEMPTION.
WHEREAS, the Ci.ty of Clearwater, Florida, a municipal corporation,
has acquired certain hereinafter described real property for road
right-at-way and other public use purposes; and
WHEREAS, said City of Clearwater desires that the Board of County
Commissioners of Pinellas County discharge any and all liens for
taxes from the date of acquisition by said City held or owned by the
County or the State of Florida upon said lands heretofore acquired
by said City of Clearwater and to further provide that said lands
shall be exempt from County taxation so long as, the,same are owned
and used for such public purpose: and
WHEREAS, Florida Statutes 196.20, Cancellation of delinquent
taxes upon lands used for road purposes, etc., grants to the Board
of County Commissioners of Pinellas County, Florida, full power and
authority to accomplish this request; and
WHEREAS, in order to comply with the policy of said Board, the
City of Clearwater is willing to guarantee payment of taxes prior,
to the date of, transfer on the hereinafter described property when
the tax rolls reflect the proper amount and the City is billed for
that amount;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMNISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWA'l'ER, FIIORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the City of Clearwater he~cby formally requests the
Board of County Commissioners of pinellas County, Florida, to take
all formal action necessary to cancel and discharge any and all liens
for taxes, from the date of acquisition by said City, held or owned
by Pinellas County or the State of Florida, upon the lands acquired
by the City of Clearwater for public purposes, which lands are more
particularly set out in the Deeds attached hereto as Exhibit A and
made a part hereof, and to provide that said lands shall be exempt
from County taxation so long as the same are used for such public
purpose.
2. Tht the City of Clearwater guarantees payment of taxes prior
to the date of transfer on the hereinabove described properties when
the tax rolls reflect the proper amount and the City is billed for
that amount.
3. That a certified copy of this Resolution be delivered forth-
with to the County Administrator for Pinellas County, Plorida.

day of August, A.D. 1985.
