SUBJECT/RECOMMENDA TION:
Accept the assignment of the option for the Dimmitt property from the City of Clearwater and approve
extending the option for an additional six months at a cost of $50,000.
l!I and that the appropriate officials be authorized to execute same.
SUMMARY:
. The City commission approved the option to purchase parcels A & B of the Dimmitt Property at the
December 10, 1998, meeting.
. The first option period had no cost to the City and ran for 180 days. The second option period costs
$50,000 for an additional six months.
. The option of the Dimmitt Property allows the CRA to control the land for six more months in an effort to
assure the redevelopment of this property meets the City Commission's redevelopment objectives for this
area.
. At the January 19,1999 CRA meeting the trustees approved the establishment of the Economic
Development Incentive Project Fund. This fund is to provide money for redevelopment projects.
Therefore, staff recommends the money from this fund be used to fund the option of the Dimmitt Property.
