Employees' Pension Plan as recommended by the Pension Advisory Committee.

BACKGROUND:
Kenneth Angell, Jr., Public Works Service Worker 1, Public Works Department, was
employed by the City on August 27, 1984, and began participating in the 'Pension Plan on that date.
He passed away on January 25, 1995.'
Cynthia Angell, wife of Kenneth Angell, Jr., has applied for survivor's benefits under provisions
of the Pension Plan.
Upon presentation of the appropriate documentation, the Pension Advisory Committee approved
Mrs. Angell's request at its meeting of February 1, 1995. This pension will be effective on
January 26, 1995, at the beginning of the day.
Based on an average salary of approximately $22,200 over the past five years and the formula f o r
computing survivor's benefits, Mrs. Angell's pension will approximate $5,772 annually. Charts
from Finance which take into consideration mortality rates and age reflect the "present value cost
of financing" this pension will be approximately $52,746. The estimated pension cost (cash
payout over the life of the pensioner and his spouse) is $141,416.

Cynthia Angell, wife of Kenneth 'J. Angell, Jr., has been determined' by the Pension
Advisory Committee to meet the requirements of the Pension Plan for a survivor's pension
based on the following: Kenneth J. Angell, Jr„ (1) was employed by the City on August 27,
1984; (2) began participating in the Pension Plan on that date; and (3) passed away on
January 25, 1995.
By motion made and duly carried at its meeting of February 1, 1995, the Pension Advisory
,Committee' approved the survivor's pension for Cynthia Angell in accordance with
provisions of Section 2.407 of the City Code. This pension is to be effective January 26, 1995,
at the beginning of the day.
The amount of the pension will be calculated by the Finance Department according to the
formula in the Pension Plan.
