Attached is the Table of Contents from the budget book which will serve as an agenda for
the Commission's meeting on Wednesday, August 9, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Due to the consolidation of the two budget workshops, I would appreciate it jf you would let
me know the department and/or directors you would like to see at the meeting to answer
your inquiries. This procedure would eliminate the need for all of the directors to ttwait
their tumtt and assist in keeping to the Commission's scheduling time frame. Please call
Denise with the name of the individual departments you would like to see at the August 9th
workshop.

Dear Mayor Garvey,
I am writing this letter to you and requesting that .you
distribute copies of same to the commissioners when they meet to
discuss the approval of the item request for an additional part
time staff person at the sailing center. Mr. Held has responded
to the needs of the community by endeavoring to have the center
open twelve hours a dar seven days a week . He has actively
pursued all avenues of lncreasing productivity there and has been
able till this time to do it only due to the loyalty and
devotion of Laurie and Tim who work flexible hours to meet the
needs of the public. They are entitled to a person who in their
absense can spare them and pick up the slack. You could not ask
any more of these people .They need this item desperately in
order to grow. As you know Windjammers has supported and will
continue to do so this most vital program with funds and
boats. I trust that the Town will join with us in our efforts to
support this venture as it continues to grow. It is withoout.
reservation that I as the Commodore endorse this proposal and
trus~.that you will support Mr. Held in his request.It should be
noted that this is part of the business plan that he worked up
for the next five years. Already he has made significant inroads
on achieving the ~oals ;however, he will need your positive
support at this t~me.
