COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
I teen #
Meeting Date: 11/30/9Z
SUBJECT:
Expansion of Community Redevelopment Area Boundaries
RECOMMENDA TlON/:\t10TION:
Recommend expansion of Community Redevelopment area boundaries in the North and South Corridor
Areas to the City Commission.
[J and that the appropriate officials be authorized to execute same.
BACKGROUND:
State law requires that, prior to action on expansion of redevelopment area boundaries, the Community
Redevelopment Agency (eRA) shall recommend to the governing body (City Commission) whether or
not the expansion should occur. Consequently, we have scheduled the CRA to consider this matter prior
to the December 3, 1992 City Commission consideration of the Downtown Development Plan.
During work sessions held on the Downtown Development Plan, the City Commission has indicated its
desire to expand the Community Redevelopment area into two areas located on the periphery of the
existing Urban Center (Eastern Corridor) district. These expansion areas are shown on Figures 7 and 8
(pp. 18 & 19) of the draft Downtown Development Plan previously provided to the Commission.
Staff recommends that these areas be included in the Downtown Community Redevelopment area.
