We have received a request from U. S. Home of Florida to
release Surety Bond number U.S. 00179 in the amount of
$363,600.00. This Bond was posted to cover sewage haul-
ing in Countryside.
Inasmuch as those facilities which serve this area have
been completed and are now "on line", this Bond has
served its purpose. Please release the Surety Bond
and return the original to U. S. Home along with an
executed release of Surety Bond at your earliest con-
venience.
We would appreciate you sending us a copy of the Bond and
the related information for our files.

This will acknowledge receipt of your memorandum of September 18, 1979
containing a proposed bond by U. S. Home.
The bond as drawn appears to expire within a one year period. I wonder
whether or not that is going to be sufficient enough time to cover a project
involving some 305 homes and the construction of sewer facilities for those
homes.
(1) It would not appear to me to provide leeway should the time period

~p.\ v-(-J. (2) I am always somewhat troubled by these bonds issued by U. S.
~ oJ< I~.L-, Home Corporation in that I wonder where the money is to back up this partic-
r .;x I}.\ p.(;r9\~ ular bond. I was not aware that U. S. Home Corporation is in the bond
('" ~ o~ issuance business and it would be well to know that the $363,600 is actually
~ set apart somewhere in the corporation devoted to this purpose i. e. the bond
onl y .
(3) I question the advisability in inserting in any agreement the fact
that the City of Clearwater will take over hauling sewage. Obviously, the
money is available for that purpose ,if U. S. Home Corporation commits a
pledge on its bond; however, I hate to agree in advance that U. S. Home
Corporation has such an escape clause available to it. I believe it is better
to hold them strictly to their obligation and rely on the bond itself if that
should become necessary.
(4) I would also show a copy of that proposed agreement relating to
building permits to Roy Ayers and see if that creates any problem for him
in insuring that any code involved is met.
(5) The signature line would have to be restructured to include all
appropriate officials since the city itself is i vo
