4. TRIMMING: All trimming should be completed before and during construction so that equipment can have as much
free and open space to all quadrants of the trees if required.
5.. SITE CLEARING: All site clearing. grading leveling and tree removal close to the trees to be saved should be completed
With absolutely no encroachment of eqUipment under the drip Ime (canopy) of the trees. When root pruning is necessary,
all root systems of trees to be saved shold be cut (root prun~d) with a stump machine at a depth of 12"-16" at the drip
Ime (canopy) of the trees. ThiS actiOn Will ehmmate the tearing, sphttmg and disruption of the roots in the most vital area
of the root ball zone. This will also delineate the areas that land clearing machinge must not enter.
6. SPRINKLER SYSTEM: It is imperative that no sprinkler system be installed under any tree to be saved if is entails digging
m undisturbed areas where roots have been protected. These systems are to be instaled in areas where the roots have been
removed or in areas of fill. If the areas have been filled and the roots left in tact, the trench for sprinkler pipes must not
encroach the root zone.

TREE PRESERVATION NOTES:
1. CHEMICAL SPRAYS: ARBORICULTURAL CONSULTANT IN THE CARE OF TREES
Applying systemic fungicides by ground drench and minor elements into the trees system will help arrest any existing
dlseases that cn be chemlCally controlled and asslst the trees natural defences to fight future disease attacks, particurally
those that occur when the foot systems are damaged during site clearing.
The chemical mixture of the sprays recommended includes: Fungicides - Clery's 3335 16 oz to 100 gal. of water. Subdue
3 oz to 10 gal. of water. Agrijizer 48 oz to. 100 gal. of water. Insecticide sprays are to be applied when construction
starts. The lower trunks should be wrapped m burlap and sprayed wlth Lmdane, & non-systemic insecticide.
2. AERATION: Aeration holes shall be drilled into the ground 10"-12" deep on a 2' staggered center pattern under the
canopy in order to promote root growth by oxygenation and loosening the soil.
3. . MULCH: Oak leaves or pine straw is to be. used under all trees to be saved. This action will kill the grass, retain
mOisture and help prevent SOil compactiOn dUring constructiOn, as well as improve soil quality, build up a medium for
landscaping, introduce a new supply of mycorrizhae incolum into the area and act as a natural soil e.cidifier.

GENERAL NOTES:
A minimum of 2 days and a maximum of 5 days prior to the commencement of any work, Sunshine State One Call
shall be notified @ 1 800 432-4770 per Florida Statute 553.851.
The general/site contractor shall be responsible for construction grade preparation, including grading for berms if
required, and site drainage unless otherwise specified. Drainage preparation and clean topsoil backfill shall be provided
and installed by the general/site contractor to establish construction grades.

The site is to be received by the landscape contractor with finished grades at plus or mmus one-tenth of one foot and
clear of debris and weed growth. Finished grades in areas abutting curbs, walks, or pavement to be provided flush by
the general/site contractor or others. The landscape contractor is responsible for fine grading by hand which consists
of smooth, even grades. The landscape contractor is to cut all grades down to minus two inches (-2") below all walks,
curbs, pavement, in planters or other abutments in order to contain sod or mulch as specified.

All plants to be Florida grade #1 or better. Workmanship should be of the highest nursery standards.
All plants are to be planted from flush to one inch (1") above finished grade of soil. All trees are to be planted two
inches (2") below finished grade to create a shallow basin to hold water and mulch. DO NOT install any soil ring mounds
around plants or tree for water. DO NOT backfill any soil over the top of the root ball of any plant or tree.

Apply fertilizer at the rate of 8 pounds per 1000 square feet of lawn or as recommended by the manufacturer for turf
areas a minimum of two weeks after sod installation. All plants / trees / palms are to be fertilized with a granular type
fertilizer at time of planting, All fertilizer is to be installed in an even ring / circle outside the edge of the rootball or at
the edge of the dnpline. Do Not broadcast fertilizer on plants. Follow the application rate: 1 gallon plants 2-4 fluid
ounces of granular fertilizer, 3 gallon plants 4-6 fluid ounces, 10-15 gallon plants 8 fluid ounces (1 pound), 30 gallon plants
2 pounds, trees 1 pound per caliper inch, palms 3-4 pounds on small palms, 5-6 pounds on palms 15'oa, 8-10 pounds on
palms over 15'oa.
All areas within the property boundaries which reqUIre sod are to be sodded with St. Augustine 'Flora tam solid sod, unless
otherwise specified, free from pests and weeds, layed in staggered rows with no gaps. The contractor is to substantiate all
sod quantities before final installation.
"A Grade Cypress Bark mulch is to be installed a minimum of 2" deep in all plant bed areas. All trees are to have a
mulched bed a minimum of three feet (3') in diameter.
All trees are to be guaranteed for six (6) months and all plants are to be guaranteed for ninety (90) days from the
date of final acceptance of the job by the owner / representative. Vandalism. theft, abuse, lack of proper mamtenance,
watering. or abnormal acts of God are not included.
IRRIGATION NOTES:
GENERAL - Work consists of furnishing all labor, equipment and materials necessary to produce a complete and functional
irrigation system that will supply 100% coverage of the landscaped areas within the limits of work which is to include areas as
shown and drawn on the plan. The irrigation contractor is to visit the site and become familiar with all conditions prior to
commencement of work and is responsible for locating all existing utilities and lighting conduit and is responsible for any damages
or repairs incurred. All minor items implied, usually included, or required for the complete construction of the irrigation system
shall be installed whether shown in the drawing / specifications or not. All equipment shall be installed per the manufacturer's
recommendations. As-build drawings for the owners use shall be provided by the irrigation contractor after completion of work.
Test and demonstrate to the owner / landscape architect the operations of the system. Instruct the owner's designated personnel
in the operations of the system including adjustment of sprinklers. controller, valves and manufacturer's manuals.
WATER SOURCE - To Be Determined, If from potable water source a backflow preventer will be installed per code. The irrigation
contractor is responsible for compliance with any requirements or codes with local and state authorities, and is to be responsible
for all licenses, and fees pertaining to this irrigation system.
RAINSENSOR - A Miniclic II rain shut off device is to be installed on a post or attached to the building out from the eave at the
controller (location to be determined).
PIPING - All piping shall be class 160 PVC 1120-1220. All pipe Will be buned a minimum of 12" below finished grade, Where piping
runs underneath plants, piping should be buried a minimum of 18" below fmished grade. All mainline and lateral piping adjacent to
sidewalk, curb or building is to be located a maximum of 12" from pavement / foundation unless noted otherwise, A minimum of
18" of flexible PVC is to be used on all pop-up type heads (570 sprays). All shrub risers are to be on rigid 1/2" PVC and painted
flat black. Shrub risers are to be set at 12" off walls (if specified). All fittings are to be schedule 40 PVC. The irrigation contractor
is to coordinate all heads as to landscape requirements. All pipe is to be installed for a maximum of 5 FPS. All sleeves are to
be schedule 40 PVC and buried a minimum of 18" below finished grade and extend a minimum of 12" from edge of pavement or curb.
.H..E.AD.S - All sprinkler heads are to be set a minimum of 4" from the edge of sidewalk or curb to the closest edge of head. All
heads are to be aimed and adjusted for one hundred percent (100%) head to head coverage of the landscaped areas with minimal or
no water on walks, pavement or structure. All spray heads to be TORO / RAINBIRD pop-up type with the top of the head installed
flush with the top of sidewalk, pavement or curb. All heads installed against the building are to be located a minimum of 12" off
the face of the building to eliminate back spray. All shrub risers are to be set at 6" above installed plant heights (if specified).
All heads are to be bottom fed to allow for adjustment of head height and location. It may be necessary to move or add heads
due to possible construction variations. Only TORO / RAINBIRD nozzles will be accepted, NO OTHER EQUAL.
