THE OWNER SHAlL PERIODICAlLY MONITOR THE STORMWATER SYSTEM (PIPE CONVEYANCE
SYSTEM AND RETENTION POND) FOR SILT AND SEDIMENTATION BUILD UP. THE PIPE
CONVEYANCE SYSTEM SHAll BE FLUSHED. AS DEEMED NECESSARY NO LESS THAN TWICE A
YEAR. ALL MATERIAl SHAlL BE COLLECTED DOWNSTREAM AND REMOVED. THE RETENTION
POND SHALL BE KEPT MOWED AND THE BOTTOM FREE OF DEBRIS. IF WATER STANDS IN
THE POND MORE THAN 48 HOURS THE OWNER SHALL RAKE AND/OR SCARIFY THE POND
BOTTOM, AS DEEMED NECESSARY AND NO LESS THAN TWICE A YEAR TO RESTORE THE
PERCOLATION CHARACTERISTICS OF THE POND. THE OWNER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE TO MAKE
SURE THAT TO THE BEST OF HIS ABILITY NOTHING ENTERS THE SYSTEM BESIDES
STORMWATER THAT COULD DETERIORATE THE FUNCTIONING CAPABILITIES OF THE SYSTEM, I.E.
GASOLINE, OIL. GREASE. CHEMICALS, ETC.
THE POND UNDERDRAIN SYSTEM SHAU BE INSPECTED ANNUAllY AND RETROFITTED AND
flUSHED SEMI-ANNUAllY. CLOGGED OR SPENT FILTER MATERIAL SHALL BE DISPOSED OF IN
ALL MANNERS AS WITH THE HANDLING OF HAZARDOUS WASTE. THE SPENT FILTER MATERiAl

PREVENT EROSION OF THE STOCKPILED MATERiAl, 4iQNTROL OF DUST FROM SUCH
STOCKPILED MATERIAL. MAY BE REQUIRED, DEPENDING UPON THEIR LOCATION AND THE

FILTER MEDIUM SPECIFICATIONS
THE FILTER SAND SHAlL BE WASHED MATERiAl MEETING F.D.O.T, ROAD AND BRIDGE
SPECIFICATIONS FOR SILICA SAND AND QUARTZ GRAVELS, OR MIXTURES THEREOF (LESS
THAN ONE (1) PERCENT SILT. CLAY AND ORGANIC MATTER), UNLESS FILTER CLOTH IS
USED WHICH IS SUITABLE TO RETAIN THE SILT, CLAY AND ORGANIC MATTER WITHIN THE
FILTER; CAlCIUM CARBONATE AGGREGATE IS NOT AN ACCEPTABLE SUBSTITUTE; AND HAVE
AN EFFECTIVE GRAIN SIZE OF 0,20 TO 0.55 MIWMETERS IN DIAMETER; A UNIFORMITY
COEFFICIENT OF 1.5 OR GREATER.
RATE OF 0.125 CM/SEC. OR GREATER. IF THE PERMEABILITY RATE OF THE FILTER
SAND IS LESS THAN 0.125 CM/SEC. A REPLACEMENT OF THE FILTER SYSTEM WIU
BE REQUIRED AT THE CONTRACTOR'S EXPENSE. THE CONTRACTOR SHAll HAVE THE
SAND TESTED AND APPROVED BY THE ENGINEER PRIOR TO INSTAlLATION. IT IS
RECOMMENDED THAT THE CONTRACTOR HAVE THE FILTER SAND TESTED AND APPROVED.
2. THE PERFORATED PIPE SHAlL CONSIST OF POI,.YVINYL CHLORIDE (PVC) CONFORMING TO
ASTM D 3033, HAVE MINIMUM OF SIXTEEN (16) 3/8 INCH DIAMEtER PERFORATIONS
PER LINEAR FOOT OF PIPE AND BE ON THE BOTTOM 135' OF THE PIPE.
3. THE CONTRACTOR SHAll PROVIDE DEWATERING MEASURES AS REQUIRED DURING
THE INSTALLATION OF THE UNDERDRAlN AND AlL OF ITS COMPONENTS.
4. THE CONTRACTOR SHAll NOT BACKFlU THE DRAIN PIPE UNTIL THE ENGINEER HAS
VERIFIED AND APPROVED THE DRAIN PIPE GRADES AND INSTALLATION OF I FILTER MEDIA.

- GENERAL LANDSCAPE NOTES
I . All plant matenals shall be Flonda If I or better and Installed to highest nursery standards. Plants shall be
healthy, free of pest and disease.
2. All plants shall be container grown except as noted on plan.
3. All palms and trees shall have straight trunks With no tWIsts, knotting or other defective charactensttcs.
4. Mulch shall be I 00% Pine Baric, Installed to a minimum thickness of 2".
5. 50d shall be 95% weed free St. Augustine "Floratam", Installed WIth tight JOints.
b. All dImenSions shall be field checked by the Landscape Contractor prIor to construction WIth any
discrepancies reported to the Landscape Architect,
7. All materials shall be as specifIed on the plans. If matenals, labor or Installation techniques do not adhere
to the speCificatIons, they Will be rejected by the Landscape Architect WIth Specl~ed matenals and Installatton
carned out by the Landscape Contractor at no additional cost.

heads. All heads shall be Installed WIth the top of the spray body flush WIth finish t3rade. All t3roundcover areas
shall be Irrigated With 121 pop-up fixed spray heads and extensions as reqUired.
4. All sodded areas shall be Irrigated WIth 41 pop-up spray heads or pop-up gear driven heads unless
otherWIse specified.
5. Pipe, valves and other Irngatlon eG\ulpment may be shown In drives, walks or bUildings for c1anty only. Install
all valves and other equipment In landscape beds for best accessibility and concealment.
b. Valves shall be Inst3lled In a mamfold Within a valve box of suffiCient size to service all valves WIthin the box,
