A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING
EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF
FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPOR TA TION
RELATING TO COMPUTER SIGNAL SYSTEM EXPANSION.
WHEREAS, the State of Florida Department of Transpntation
is preparing to undertake a project within the City of Clea rwater
relating to computer signal system expansion which will be of benefit
to the City; and
WHEREAS, approval of Federal aid necessary to the Project
requires agreement by the City to install and make operational certain
traffic signal equipment; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to authorize the proper
officials of the City to execute the agreement neces sary for said
Proj ect;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Commission of the City of Clearwater, Florida,
hereby authorizes the proper officials of the City to execute an agreement
with the State of Florida Department of Transportation relating to computer
signal system expansion.
2. That a copy of this Resolution shall be attached to said Agreement
as such authorization.
3. That this Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
its adoption.

AGREEMENT
THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this

CJ'^')c) ,A.D. 1981, by and between the STATE OF FLORIDA
DEPAR TMENT OF TRANSPOR TA TION, hereinafter called the Depar tment,
and the CITY OF CLEAR W AT ER, FLORIDA, hereinafter called the City;
WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, the Department is preparing to undertake a Project
within the City identified and known to the parties as Project No. 15606-3606,
which will be of benefit to the City; and
WHEREAS, approval of Federal aid necessary to the Project requires
agreement by the City to install and make operational, in accordance with
federally approved State standards, traffic signal equipment as specified in
Table 1 and located as per Figure 1, both of which are attached hereto and
by this reference is made a part hereof; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has by proper resolution, attached
hereto and by this reference made a part hereof, authorized its officers to
enter into this Agreement,
NOW, THEREFORE, for and in consideration of the premises and
of the mutual benefits to accrue to each of the parties hereto, it is mutually
agreed as follows:
1. The Department will undertake the Project and obtain approval
for Federal participation to furnish the City with the equipment as specified
in Table 1.
2. The City will install and make operational the specified equipment
in accordance with federally approved State standards.

3. Upon completion of the installation, the City will assume
responsibility for maintenance of the equipment to assure proper operation
of the traffic systems of the Project and will conduct such maintenance in
accordance with federally approved State standards.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have set their hands
and affixed their seals on the day and year first above written.
