A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF CLE.ARWATER, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING
THE CITY OF CLE..A_R WATER, FLORIDA, TO ENTER
INTO A JOINT PROJECT AGREL'1v1ENT WITH THE STA TE
OF FLORIDA DEPAR T1\1.ENT OF TRA1\SPOR T A TION
RELATING TO EXPANSION OF THE COMPUTFRIZED
SIGNAL SYSTEM.
WHERE..";S, the City of Cle2.rwater presently has a computerized
signal system; and
WHEREAS, t...'1e State of Florida Department of Transportation plans
to expand the computerized system to include U. S. Route 19; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Transportation will provide 38,000 feet
of i:J.teTcoilllect cable and function boxes end me City participation will involve
labor to install the cable; and
WHEREAS, completion of this project will result in the computerization
of t....'1e signals on U.S. 19 from Haines-B2.yshore Boulevard to Sunset Point
ROed; and
WHEREA.S, It 1S necessary to execute the joint project agreement to
s2.tisfy requirements relating to Feaeral funding involved in the project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWA TER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULP~RLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the City of Clearwater. Florida, is hereby a utJlOriz ed to enter
into a joint project agreement with tbe State of Florida Department of
Transportation providing for the eXp2.:JSlon of the Computerized Traffic
Sig:Ja1 System to U. S. Route 19.
2. That the 2.ppropriate City officials are authorized to execute such
agr e ement and take s ucb steps as ar e nec es s ary to complete the proj ect.

the STATE OF FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, hereinafter
called Department, and the CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, hereinafter called Clty.
WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, the Department is preparing to undertake a Project within the City
identified and known to the parties as Project No. 15150-3543 and 15150-3544, which
will be of benefit to the City, and
WHEREAS, approval of federal aid necessary to the Project requires agreement
by the City to install interconnect cable and aerial junction boxes on Druid
Rd. from US 19 to Court St. (22,176 feet) and on Drew St. from US 19 to Hercules Ave. -
on Hercules from Drew St. to Cleveland St. - on Cleveland St. from Hercules Ave. to
c; len\;)ood Ave. (16,022 feet) in accordance wi th federally approved state standards,
and
imEHEAS, the Board of City Commissioners has by proper resolution, attached
hereto and by this reference made a part hereof, authorized its officers to enter
into this Agreement.
Nm~, THEREFORE, for and in consideration of the premises and of the mutual
benefits to accrue to each of the parties hereto, it is mutually agreed as follows:
1. The Department will undertake the Project and obtain approval for federal
participation to furnish the City with a total of 38,198 feet of interconnect cable
Jnd fifteen aerial junction boxes.
2. The eit\' ,;)ill install the interconnect cable and junction boxes in
ch'cordalh:L' with federally approved state standards.
