Due to the major road construction work on Highland Avenue, we are receiving requests from
business owners along this street for temporary signs. Section 44.54 of the City Code of
Ordinances allows bonuses for temporary signs to be erected upon property adversely affected by a
major public works project, subject to designation as such by the City Manager.
I recommend that you approve the following:
Highland Avenue between Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard and Sunset Point Road, is designated as
an area adversely affected by the Highland Avenue major public works project, for the
purpose of allowing sign bonus provisions for temporary signs along this street during the
construction phase of the project, in accordance with and subject to the provisions set forth
in Section 44.54 of the City Code of Ordinances.
