TRANSIT
AUTHORITY, a body politic and corporate, an agency of Pinellas
County, Florida, constitutes under Chapter 70-907, Special Acts
of Florida, 1970, hereinafter referred to as "Transit Authority",
and the CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, a municipal corporation, here-
inafter referred to as "City";
WIT N E SSE T H:
WHEREAS, the City is desirous of providing a special bus
service to and from Clearwater Beach on Sundays and holidays to
reduce the number of vehicles using Memorial Causeway on such days;
and
WHEREAS, the Transit Authority is willing to operate two
special buses on Sundays and holidays to provide this special
service;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Transit Authority and the City, for and
ln consideration of the covenants herein contained and other good
and valuable considerations, agree as follows:
I. That the Transit Authority will operate a special bus
service to and from Clearwater Beach on Sundays and holidays which
will consist of two additional buses originating at Clearwater High
School parking lot with stops at Gulf to Bay Plaza Shopping Center,
Cleveland Plaza Shopping Center and the Pinellas County Court House
parking lot, per attached schedule.
2. To distinguish these special buses from regular C.P.T.A.
buses, they will be specially painted at the expense of the City,
but the Transit Authority shall be responsible for all mechanical
repairs and all other repairs necessary to maintain said buses in
good, safe working order and condition.
3. These two special buses shall be added to the Transit
Authority's liability and property damage insurance policies and shall
be covered in the same manner as the other buses which it regularly
operates and maintains.

4. The fare to be charged on these special buses shall be
10C:: per person.
5. The City shall pay to the Transit Authority a rental sum
of $.5.8 per mile payable monthly, subject to a credit for the
passenger revenue received for said period.
6. The Authority shall give a written report monthly to the
City showing the mileage of each special bus, passengers carried and
revenue received; the rental sum payable to the Authority shall be
made within ten (10) days from submission of the report to the City.
7. This service shall begin on
and
be on a trial basis for
the City will review
the service and either allocate additional funds to continue same or
discontinue the service.
8. This service may be discontinued by either party after
six (6) months upon thirty (30) days' written notice to the other
party.
9. All notices hereunder shall be sent to the Central Pinellas
Transit Authority, l4840 49th St.North, Clearwater, Florida 33516,
and to the City of Clearwater City Manager, P.O. Box 4748, Clearwater,
Florida 33518.
