Subject: Rezoning REZ 2007-10001
Dear Ms. Watkins,
I am a full time resident of Sand Key and am very disturbed by the prospect of the shops and restuarants being eliminated by rezoning this property. I purchased on Sand Key because
of the ability to walk to shops and restuarants and currently do this several times a week.
These shops are a major contributor to the quality of life in our neighborhood. We not only enjoy using them, but we see our neighbors while doing so. They are a part of the fabric
of this community.
Also, other problems will come with rezoning. The traffic, which can already be heavy at time, will increase substantially. This will over burden our streets making reducing the quality
of life of all the residents of Sand Key.
In addition, the property value of the near by residential buildings will be reduced by lowering of the quality of life on Sand Key and by the building of a multi-story structure with
a parking lot at its base.
This parcel of land is the only public access and enjoyment of dining and shopping on the water on Sand Key. If you allow it to be eliminated, then you are taking away a critical component
of the quality of life of all residents and visitors on Sand Key.
Please oppose this rezoning.
Regards,
MaryLou Davidson
