INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT
THIS INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT (I'Agreement") is made as of
this
4th day of
October
, 1983, by and between the CITY
OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA ("CLEARWATER") and the CITY OF
ST. PETERSBURG, FLORIDA (liST. PETERSBURG"), political sub..
divisions of the State of Florida;
WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, it is the purpose and intent of the parties hereto to
provide a means of providing legal counsel to certain City boards and
commissions when the City Attorney of the City which has created the board
is unable to do so due to conflict of interest; and
WHEREAS, this cooperative agreement will provide for legal
representation in such conflict situations without cost to either party;
NOW, THEREFORE, CLEARWATER and ST. PETERSBURG agree
as follows:
1. Either City will provide at no cost to the other City upon
request and reasonable notice the services of a staff attorney of the City
Attorney's Office of the provider City to represent the Human Relations
Board or the Code Enforcement Board of the requestor City when the City
Attorney's Office of the requestor City cannot do so due to a conflict of
interest.
2. The Attorney provided shall be designated by the City Attorney
of the provider City.
3. The Attorney provided shall be considered at all times an
employee of'the provfaer city and'nof1he reqtlestorClty.
4. The City Attorneys of both Cities are authorized to extend this
agreement to cover legal service,s to other boards and commissions.
5. This agreement shall continue until cancelled by sixty (60)
days written notice given by either City Attorney to the other City
Attorney.

6. All out of pocket expenses and costs of the legal services
provided shall be borne by the requestor City.
7. This representation may include litigation when authorized by
the board represented and if both City Attorneys concur.
8. Neither City shall incur any liability to the other as a result
of this legal representation.
9. Prior to this Interlocal Agreement becoming effective, the
same shall be filed of record with the Clerk of the Pinellas County Circuit
Court.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties have caused this Interlocal
Agreement to be executed on the day and year above written.
